Northern Tier Sports ReportCANTON — Canton lost to Southern Tioga Brant 16-10 in Junior baseball bracket play on Saturday.
Canton led 3-1 after two but Southern used an 8-run third inning to go up 9-5. They pushed their lead to 12-6 after four, then score two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings.
Canton rallied in the bottom half fo the sixth with four runs, but couldn’t quite get over the hump.
Liam Rathbun (2-for-3) had two runs scored with a double, as Gauge Rockwell scored three times.
Jeremy Blaney (1-for-3) scored twice, while Daniel Inman (1-for-4) also crossed home. Christopher Reynoso (1-for-3) had 3-RBI with a run scored, as Colby Colton (1-for-3) had a hit.
Kobi Hoover walked three times and scored a run, while Grant Jennings and Brior Hartford each had an RBI.
Teyton Thompson started, and went 2 1/3-innings with two strikeouts, while Rathbun went one third of an inning.
Colton struck out one in 2 1/3-innings, as Jennings struck out three in the final two innings.
