Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — RTL’s late rally came up short as they fell to Elk Lake, 9-7, during District 15 Little League Majors Baseball action Sunday.
Elk Lake led 2-0 after one, and 6-0 after three. RTL got on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth, but Elk Lake added three more in the bottom half for a 9-1 lead.
RTL would rally with six runs in the sixth, but couldn’t quite extend the game.
Sawyer Clouse (2-for-3) had a home run, a double, 3-RBI, and a run scored, as Weston Maines (2-for-3). Had a double with a run scored, and an RBI.
Parker Sands (1-for-3) had a triple with a run scored, while Wesley Kershner (1-for-3), Nolan Putnam (1-for-3), Aiden Nystrand, and Jackson Case all scored runs.
Putnam, Noah Shaffer, and Case each had an RBI.
Nystrand started, and went 2 1/3-innings with three strikeouts, with Sands going 2 1/3-innings to strikeout three.
Shaffer struck out one in a third of an inning.
