LADY LIGHTNING 14U TAKES SECOND IN SILVER BRACKET AT RUMBLE IN THE ROC TOURNAMENT (2025-06-22)

The Lady Lightning 14U softball team took second place in the Silver Bracket at the Rumble in the Roc Tournament in Webster, N.Y. 

The team went 1-2 in pool play on Saturday, then rebounded to go 3-1 in bracket play on Sunday.


In pool play they lost to the Cardinal FastPitch 10-1, beat the Lady Chaos 6-0, then fell in a nail-biter to Amherst Lightning 5-4.


In bracket play they opened with a 10-4 win over Greece Lady Gladiators, then edged the Cyclones 7-6.


They won 8-4 over the Webster Xtreme to reach the finals, where they fell 14-2 to Pride Diamond.


In their opener Faith Parkhurst (1-for-2) scored their run and hit a triple, with Madilyn Callear (1-for-2) driving her in. Karmyn McPherson (1-for-2) also had a hit.


Raya Preston went 4 2/3-innings with five strikeouts, six hits, seven runs, three of which were earned, and two walks.


Maci Campbell tossed the final one-third with one strikeout, three walks, three earned runs, and no hits.


In the win over the Lady Chaos McPherson (2-for-2) scored and had an RBI, as Xoie Shoemaker (1-for-2) scored twice.


Zoey Thetga (1-for-2) drove in two runs while Abby Ahern also had an RBI.


Parkhurst, Preston (1-for-2), and Campbell (1-for-2) all scored, with Delaney Kendall (1-for-2) getting a hit.


Callear went the distance for the shutout, striking out six with two walks, and four hits.


In the lost to Amherst Shoemaker (1-for-2) scored, and drove in a run, as Preston (1-for-2), and McPherson each had an RBI.


Parkhurst, Thetga, and Ahern all scored, as Kendall (1-for-2) and Callear (1-for-1) each had a hit.


Ayla Wheeler started, and went three innings with two strikeouts, five hits, one walk, and five runs, two of which were earned.


Campbell went an inning with one strikeout, and one hit.


Against the Lady Gladiators Shoemaker (1-for-2) had a double with 2-RBI, and a run scored, as Kendall (1-for-2) drove in two runs with a run scored.


Parkhurst (1-for-2) scored, and drove in a run as McPherson, Ahern, and Campbell (1-for-2) each had an RBI.


Callear (1-for-1), McPherson, Ahern, Preston, Wheeler (1-for-1), Lainey Vosburgh (1-for-2), and Alexis McMurray (1-for-2) all scored.


Campbell went the first three innings with five strikeouts, four walks, three hits, and four runs, two of which were earned.


Preston tossed the final inning with one strikeout, and one hit.


In the win over the CyclonesWheeler (2-for-3) scored twice, and had an RBI, as Parkhurst (2-for-4) had an RBI with a run scored.


Shoemaker (2-for-3) scored, and drove in a run, as Kendall (1-for-2) had a double with an RBI.


Ahern (1-for-2) had a double, scored a run, and drove one in, while Thetga (2-for-2) also scored.


Campbell (1-for-1) scored as McMurray (1-for-1) had an RBI.


Preston went 3 1/3-innings with two strikeouts, seven hits, one walk, and five runs, four of which were earned.


Callear tossed the final 1 2/3-innings with four strikeouts, one walk, and an unearned run.


In the win over Webster Xtreme Parkhurst (3-for-5) scored, and drove in a run, with Callear (2-for-5) and McPherson (2-for-3) both scoring, and getting an RBI.


Vosburgh (1-for-2) scored twice, and had an RBI, with Ahern (1-for-4), Wheeler, Preston (1-for-2), and Kendall (1-for-2) all scoring.


Thetga (1-for-2) drove in a run.


Callear went the distance to get the win, striking out eight with no walks, 10 hits, and four runs, two of which were earned.


In the loss to Pride Diamond Ahern (2-for-2) had a double with a run scored, as Kendall (1-for-2) drove in a run.


McMurray (1-for-10 and Shoemaker (1-for-2) each had a hit as Vosburgh scored a run.
