
WYALUSING — The offenses were as hot as the temperature in Towanda’s 21-10 win over RTL during Majors Softball action in District 15 Little League play Monday.
Towanda jumped out to a 2-0 first inning lead, with RTL tying it up with two runs in the second.
Towanda would out score RTL 4-1 in the third to take a 6-3 lead, which RTL cut it to 6-4 with a run in the fourth.
RTL made it a 1-run game by out scoring Towanda 4-3 in the fifth for a 9-8 score.
Then came Towanda’s 12-run sixth to take control of the game. RTL came back with two runs in the bottom half of the inning for the 21-10 final.
Nina Gallagher (3-for-4) had a home run, 4-RBI, and four runs scored, as Bristol Edsell (3-for-5) had a double, 3-RBI, and two runs scored.
Lily Bartholomew (3-for-5) drove in four runs with two runs scored, as Elli Thompson (2-for-4) had a double with a run scored, and an RBI.
Brinlee Brink (2-for-3) scored, and had 2-RBI, with Karis Laudermilch (2-for-3) driving in two runs while scoring once.
Gracie Hogan (1-for-2) had a double with two runs scored, as Camdyn Buford (1-for-3) score twice, and drove in a run.
Ellie Alderfer (1-for-4) had 3-RBI with a run scored while Ava Martin walked three times, and score four. Lily Strope walked three times and crossed home once.
Buford started, and went 2 2/3-innings with two strikeouts. Alderfer tossed the final 3 1/3-innings with four strikeouts.
For RTL Addy Brown (4-for-4) had a double, triple, three runs scored, and 2-RBI, with Fallon O’Connor (1-for-3) hitting a double with two runs scored, and an RBI.
Riley Welles (1-for-1) had 2-RBI with a run scored, as Lily Hawkins (1-for-2), Sophia Sweeley (1-for-4), Brae Cobb, and Cora Trobaugh all scored. Sweeley also had a double.
Hawkins, Trobaugh, and Carleigh Reynolds each had an RBI.
Cobb had seven strikeouts in the circle.
