
WYSOX — It’s not quite the Fourth of the July but there were plenty of fireworks at the Wysox softball field Tuesday. Towanda rallied from a 7-0 deficit to win 8-7 in a walk-off during District 15 Little League Minors Softball action.
RTL scored two in the second, and five more in the top of the third to go up 7-0. Towanda would get one back in the bottom half of the inning, then pushed across five more in the fourth.
It stayed that way until the bottom of the seventh when Skylar Chilson hit a 2-run single to keep Towanda’s season going.
Towanda will play Athens in the consolation final on Thursday up at Athens.
Chilson (2-for-3) had a double with 5-RBI and a run scored, as Natalie Dulaney (2-for-3) had a triple with a run scored.
Nora Cashdollar (1-for-2) and Harper Reider (1-for-1) both scored twice, with Reider getting a double. Sloane Stevens (1-for-2) had a double with an RBI.
Brielle Pratt (1-for-2) scored, and drove in a run, as Emelynn Maye (1-for-2) also crossed home. Madalyn Cox (1-for-2) had a hit.
Gracie Vanderpool started, and went two innings with three strikeouts, while Dulaney tossed the final four innings with four strikeouts.
Aubri Brown (1-for-3) had a home run with 2-RBI, and a run scored for RTL, with Hattie Sheldon (2-for-3) hitting a double with a 2-RBI.
Stella Sheldon (1-for-3) had a double, with Hadley Adams (1-for-2) scoring twice, and driving in a run.
Madelyn Sweeley (1-for-3), Ileana Putney (1-for-3), and Brooklyn Mosher (1-for-2) all scored. Skylar Gamble (1-for-2) scored and drove in two runs.
Mollee Warner (1-for-3) had a hit, while going the distance with eight strikeouts.
