
WINDHAM — The NEBall Minors Baseball team stayed alive by beating Tunkhannock for the second time in bracket play, this time 12-8 in seven innings on Wednesday.
It was a back and forth game with Tunkhannock taking a 3-0 lead after one. NEBall got on the scoreboard in the second, then added four more in the third to take a 5-4 lead.
They pushed that to 6-4 with a run in the fourth, but Tunkhannock rallied in the fifth with three runs for a 7-6 advantage.
NEBall tied it up with a run in the sixth to send it into extra innings, then racked up five in the seventh to break open the game. Tunkhannock got one run back, but couldn’t complete the comeback.
Dylan E (3-for-3) scored, and drove in a run, as Cole W (2-for-2) scored, and had an RBI.
Lane A (2-for-3) also scored, and had an RBI, as Fisher K (1-for-3) scored twice, and had an RBI.
Quaid Martin and Everett E both scored twice, with Jaxson W (1-for-3), Levi T (1-for-3), and Carson Smith all crossing home. Martin, and Levi each had an RBI as Smith drew three walks.
Lane started, and went 3 1/3-innings with five strikeouts, with Martin fanning two in 1 2/3-innings. Fisher went the final 1 2/3-innings with two strikeouts.
NEBall will travel to Athens on Friday.
