Northern Tier Sports ReportATHENS — Towanda Minors softball took Athens to the brink, but it was Athens coming away with the 6-5 walk-off win in District 15 Little League bracket play Thursday.
Athens led 2-1 after one, with Towanda tying it up at 4-4 after four.
Athens pushed one across in the fifth to take the lead, only for Towanda respond with a run in the top of the sixth. Athens got the winning run in the bottom half on a run scoring 2-out double.
Brielle Pratt (2-for-3) scored twice and drove in a run for Athens, as Sloane Stevens (1-for-3) had a double with 2-RBI.
Skylar Chilson (1-for-2), Natalie Dulaney, and Harper Reider all scored.
Dulaney struck out three in 5 2/3-innings of work.
