Northern Tier Sports ReportTUNKHANNOCK — Losses don’t get much tougher than RTL falling 7-6 in an extra inning walk-off to Tunkhannock during District 15 Little League Majors Baseball Thursday.
Tunkhannock led 2-0 after one, but RTL put up three runs in the third, and two in the fourth to go up 5-2.
Tunkhannock rallied with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game, scoring all three runs with two outs to send it into extra innings.
RTL pushed one across in the top half, but Tunkhannock scored two in the bottom half on a 2-out, 2-run single.
Jackson Case (2-for-4) had a double with a run scored for RTL as Wesley Kershner (2-for-4) also crossed home.
Parker Sands (1-for-4) scored twice with Weston Maines (1-for-4) driving in two runs. Nolan Putnam had an RBI and a run scored.
Sawyer Clouse (1-for-4) had an RBI, along with Aiden Nystrand.
Putnam started, and went 1 1/3-innings with two strikeouts, as Noah Shaffer tossed 1 2/3-innings with three strikeouts.
Sands went 1 1/3-innings to strikeout four, as Nystrand fanned four in 2 1/3-innings.
