NTL BASEBALL: ATHENS' FLYNN HEADLINES BRADFORD COUNTY BASEBALL ALL-STARS (2025-06-27)

Northern Tier Sports Report
It was an exiting season on the baseball diamond, with the NTL titles coming down to the wire. Athens ended up pulling out the NTL Large School title, while three Bradford County teams earned playoff berths.

The Wildcats were strong start to finish, as they were led by Brady Flynn. He hit .442 on the year with seven doubles, 23-RBI, and 23 runs scored. On the mound he tossed 21 1/3-innings and sporting a 1.969 ERA, earning him Player of the Year honors for the Bradford County Baseball All-stars.


Wyalusing’s Kenny Mapes turned into one of the most feared hitters in the NTL. He batted .520 with five doubles, four home runs, 10-RBI, and 14 runs scored, earning him the Offensive Player of the Year honors.


On the mound Troy’s Cam Allen proved a tough one to hit off of. He threw 42 2/3-innings, striking out 57 with a 2.62 ERA, earning him the Pitcher of the Year honors.


Defensively Towanda’s Jack Wheaton tracked all over the outfield. He didn’t record an error with 17 put outs and turned two double plays to be the Defensive Player of the Year. He also hit .364 with two triples, 16-RBI, and 24 runs scored.


Troy’s Evan Woodward came out as a senior and proved to be a strong contributor. He hit .317 with 18 runs scored, and 11-RBI, earning him the Newcomer of the Year honors.


Athens battled through a tough gauntlet of NP-Mansfield, Troy, Wellsboro, and Towanda to claim the NTL Large School title. Coach Charlie Havens and his staff are the Coaching Staff of the Year.

Connor Davidson, Athens - He hit .403 with six doubles, 20-RBI, and 21 runs scored while throwing 25-innings and striking out 43.


Nick Grazul, Athens - He hit .325 with one home run, and 20 runs scored while throwing 20-innings and striking out 31.


Brendan Cooke, Athens - He hit .514 with six doubles, three home runs, 19-RBI, and 20 runs scored.


Karter Green, Sayre - He hit .512 with seven doubles, two triples, 14-RBI, and 10 runs scored, while striking out 71 in 36-innings pitched.


Hunter House, Wyalusing - He threw 42 1/3-innings, striking out 74 with an ERA of 1.488.


Ben Fitch, Canton - He hit .420 with eight doubles, two home runs, 28 runs scored, and 12-RBI.


Bailey Gardner, Canton - He hit .419 with nine doubles, four home runs, 31 runs scored, and 20-RBI.


Reed Palmer, Troy - He hit .441 with seven doubles, two home runs, 27-RBI, and 27 runs scored, while throwing 29-innings to strike out 27.


Brendan Gilliland, Troy - He hit .440 with four doubles, three triples, three home runs, 31-RBI, and 30 runs scored, while also stealing 22 bags.


Lincoln Chimics, Troy - He hit .386 with 23 runs scored, and 17-RBI, while providing strong defense in the outfield, while also stealing 17 bags.


Joseph Frye, Troy - He hit .317 with 21 runs scored, 17-RBI, and five doubles, while providing strong defense behind the plate. On the mound he sported a 1.71 ERA.


Gianni Assante, Towanda - He hit .396 with six doubles, 18 runs scored, and 17-RBI.


Jack Tavani, Towanda - He hit .328 with two triples, 15-RBI, and 19 runs scored. On the mound he pitched 51-innings with 47 strikeouts and a 1.235 ERA.

Duncan Thetga, Athens - He hit .317 on the season while pitching 35 1/3-innings, striking out 43.


Dylan Saxon, Athens - He hit .326 with five doubles, and 18-RBI.


Eli Hobday, Athens - He hit .310 with 23 runs scored, and 14-RBI.


Troy Rosenbloom, Athens - He hit .302 with 24 runs scored.


Isaac Shaffer, Wyalusing - He hit .262 with 14 runs scored.


Zach Colton, Canton - He hit .431 with 17-rBI, and five doubles while throwing 37 1/3-innings, striking out 34.
