THE WEEK AHEAD: NEB OPENS THE SEASON; TROY, CANTON CONTINUE THEIRS (2021-03-28)

Northeast Bradford opens their baseball and softball seasons this week, while Canton and Troy continue their seasons. Wyalusing and Towanda are still on remote, though. 


BASEBALL

Tuesday, March 30

NEB (0-0) at NP-Mansfield (0-0-1), 4:30 p.m.: The young Panthers open their season at Mansfield, while the Tigers are coming off the extremely rare tie against Williamson last week.


Sayre (0-0) at Troy (1-0), 4:30 p.m.: The home opener for the Trojans who are coming off a come from behind win over CV. This is the season opener for Sayre, who will be defending their NTL Division-II title.


Thursday, April 1

Troy (1-0) at NEB (0-0), 4:30 p.m.: The home opener for the Panthers, who will welcome the equally young Trojans to their field. It will be Troy’s second road game out of three so far this season.


Wellsboro (0-0) at Canton (1-0), 4:30 p.m.: The Warriors’ home stand continues as they get another big test in the Hornets. Canton is coming off a 4-2 win over NTL Division-I defending champion Athens.


Saturday, April 3

NEB hosts Tournament, 9 a.m.: The busy week for the Panthers continues as they play host in their annual tournament. They will face Susquehanna at 9 a.m., followed by Montrose against Sullivan County. The consolation game is slated for 1 p.m. with the title game at 3 p.m.


SOFTBALL

Tuesday, March 30

NEB (0-0) at NP-Liberty (0-1), 4:30 p.m.: The Panthers hit the road to open their season. The Mounties are coming off a loss to Williamson.


Sayre (0-0) at Troy (0-1), 4:30 p.m.: The home opener for the Trojans as they’re coming off a season opening loss to CV. This will be the season opener for the Lady ‘Skins.


Thursday, April 1

Troy (0-1) at NEB (0-0), 4:30 p.m.: The home opener for the Panthers as they look to defend their NTL Division-II crown. For Troy it’s their second road game in three contests.


Wellsboro (0-0) at Canton (0-1), 4:30 p.m.: The Warriors’ early homestead continues as they face the always tough Hornets. Canton is coming off a 10-8 thrilling loss to Athens last week, while Wellsboro has yet to play.


Saturday, April 3

NEB Tournament, 9 a.m.: NEB will face Susquehanna at 9 a.m. followed by Troy facing off with Montrose. The consolation game is at 1 p.m. with the final at 3 p.m.


NP-Liberty (0-1) at Canton (0-1), 1 p.m.: An afternoon contest as both teams look to right the ship this week. NPL fell to Williamson last Friday.
