EAST TROY — The NEB boys’ cross-country team came away with an NTL dual meet sweep on Tuesday, beating Troy and Wyalusing.

NEB topped the Trojans 24-31 and Wyalusing 19-40, while Troy beat the Rams 19-44.

It was a good turnaround for the Panthers, which started the dual meet season with a close loss to Sullivan County last week.

“It started a little fire that they got some humility from,” NEB coach Dillon Lockwood said. “They went and got it.”

NEB’s younger runners did a good job staying in front of Troy’s pack.

“Whether it was knocking the dust off the first couple of races or what, but I think they’re figuring out how to race,” remarked Lockwood. “Hopefully they keep doing that.”

NEB’s Jackson Martin (18:36) held off Troy’s RJ Bellinger (18:45) to with while Wyalusing’s Aidan Neiley (18:51) was third.

Troy’s Frank Harper (19:30) and NEB’s Russell Martin (19:59) rounded out the top five.

The Panthers took three of the next four spots with Levi Dewing (20:17) and Xavier Lockwood (20:40) in sixth and seventh.

Troy’s Brody Campbell (20:45) was eighth, while NEB’s Josiah Russell (20:47) rounded out their top five in ninth.

Owen Campbell (20:55) and Ben Osgood (20:56) were 10th and 11th to round out Troy’s top five.

For the Rams Kody Tuttle (22:00) was 15th, Parker Cunningham (22:12) took 16th, and Tyler Caplan (22:12.5) came in 17th. Griffin Sheldon (23:14) was 20th to round out their top five.

Troy’s Kyle Kibbe (9:52) won the boys’ junior high race.
