NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: TOWANDA'S COBB FINISHES IN TOP 10 AT SPIKE SHOE INVITATIONAL (2025-09-12)

STATE COLLEGE — The Towanda girls’ cross-country team took 10th at the Harry Groves Spike Shoe Invitational at Penn State Friday.

The Black Knights scored 259 points, just behind ninth place Hughesville (234). State College (71) won with Lewisburg (93) taking second.

Towanda’s Maris Cobb (19:08.2) was the highest freshman in the race, taking eighth, while teammate Izzy Larson (19:34.7) came in 14th. 

Kenzie Brown (21:31.3) took 59th, Lila Larson (22:43.4) was 94th, and Leila Cobb (24:12.1) took 137th.

On the boys’ side the Knights are 13th with 352 points with State College (47) winning.

Boom Thompson (17:18.2) was 41st to lead Towanda with freshman Emmett Klees (17:35.6) in 53rd.

Hagen Jones (18:25.4) came in 78th, Phillip Spinney (18:29.5) was 85th, and Jackson Frederick (19:35.5) rounded out the top five in 140th.
