
SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT — Canton held on to beat South Williamsport, 3-2, during non-league volleyball action Monday.
The Warriors took the first two sets 25-21 and 25-18, but South rallied with wins of 25-21 and 25-19 to knot things up.
In the deciding final set Canton won 15-7.
Kaybree Kendall had 20 points, 30 digs, five aces, and two kills for Canton as Brenna VanNoy notched 32 assists, 16 points, one ace, one kill, and 10 digs.
Cailyn VanNoy had 13 points, 18 digs, eight kills, four aces, and one assists, with Adelynn Cardona getting 16 points, five kills, six blocks, one dig, and three aces.
Tara Gilbert had 18 points, 10 digs, nine kills, and four aces, while Makenna Seachrist had 10 kills, four blocks, and two digs.
Danah Wesneski finished with six points, seven kills, two assists, and three digs, as Ashley Valera had nine digs, and Alyssa May came away with one dig.
Canton won the JV match 25-12 and 25-11.
Raya Preston had six aces, six assists, three digs, and a kill with Lindley Sechrist getting eight digs, four aces, and two kills.
Emilee Walker had three aces, two kills, two digs, and one assist, as Hannah Walters had an ace, one kill, and two digs.
Lydia Mead notched an ace with two kills, while Emilia Pepper had a kill with two digs.
Amelia Pepper finished with three digs, Danika Burgess and Nayeli Strozyk had two digs each, and Jericka Strozyl finished with one dig.
Canton will host NEB on Tuesday.
