NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: TOWANDA BOYS, GIRLS TOP NEB (2025-09-16)

ROME — The Towanda boys and girls teams picked up sweeps during NTL cross-country action Tuesday.

The boys defeated NEB 20-35, while both teams won 15-50 over Sayre. On the girls’ side the Lady Knights won 18-43.

Towanda’s Boom Thompson (17:35) held off NEB’s Jackson Martin (17:37) to win the boys’ race with Towanda taking the next three spots behind Emmett Klees (17:54), Hagen Jones (18:49), and Phillip Spinney (19:04).

NEB’s Russell Martin (19:10) out kicked Towanda’s Jackson Frederick (19:13) for sixth. Also for the Panthers Xavier Lockwood (19:38) was eighth, Josiah Russell (19:59) was ninth, and Kegan Netherton (20:04) came in 10th.

On the girls’ side Maris Cobb (20:27) led the way as Izzy Larson (21:36) and Kenzie Brown (21:42) were second and third.

NEB’s Sophie Bennett (21:43) was fourth, while Knight Mary-Kate Eberlin (21:55) rounded out the top five.

Panther Ruth Laudermilch (22:29) came in sixth, as Towanda’s Lila Larson (24:06) was seventh for the final Knight scorer.

Clara Dewing (29:00) took 10th for NEB, with Riley Lamson (32:24) 11th.

In junior high action NEB girls won 15-21, while Towanda boys won 21-36. Brayden Cox (10:32) won the boys’ race for Towanda while NEB’s Julia Laudermilch (11:25) took the girls’ title.
