Northern Tier Sports Report
Canton (1-6) will head out west to take on Wellsboro (3-4) with a 7 p.m. kick-off this Friday.

The Warriors are working their way through a rash of injuries over the past few weeks.

“We are just trying to get healthy,” Canton coach Tyler Sechrist said. “We have been hit hard by injuries this season.”

The Hornets are coming off a loss to Troy but Canton knows Wellsboro will be a tough test.

“Wellsboro has some good young athletes, and an experienced coaching staff,” said Sechrist.

Slowing down Hornet QB Griffin Morral will be paramount if they’re going to come out of there with the win.

“He impressed me last year as a freshman, and has improved even more in his sophomore season,” Sechrist said. “We will need to find ways to put pressure on him.”

KEYS TO THE GAME
Canton - Find a way to get some consistent offense. If they can move the sticks that’ll give them some confidence as their younger players try and find their footing on the varsity level.
Wellsboro - Get Griffin Morral going. As Morral goes so does the Hornets. If he can complete some passes early and find a rhythm he’ll be tough to stop.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Marcus Solomon, Canton, LB - Solomon has 42 tackles on the season to lead the Warriors and he’ll need to be at the top of his game against Wellsboro.
Jorden Hines, Wellsboro, LB - Hines has 36 tackles on the season and two forced fumbles for the Hornets, look for him to make an impact on Friday.
