
ROME — NEB volleyball swept Cowanesque Valley, 3-0, to nab their first win of the season during NTL action Tuesday.
The Panthers gutted out a 27-25 first set win, then rolled to wins of 25-16 and 25-15.
“I am super proud of the girls,” said NEB coach Valerie Vanderpool. “They have worked very hard for this win, and I look forward to seeing that hard work show itself the rest of this season. I’ve never seen a group of girls with so much fight in them, they played their hearts out and I just couldn’t be prouder.”
Allie Kuhn had seven kills, four points, three aces, two digs, and an assist for NEB as Brianna Pelka notched five kills, 10 points, and three aces.
Carlie Wheaton had 13 points, five aces, and two digs while Orissa Gardner added four kills, four aces, seven points, and a dig.
Lily Gernert had two kills, as Ella Cooley finished with a kill, two aces, five points, three digs, and seven assists.
Nevaeh Potter had six points, three digs, and an ace, as Jaylin Wheaton had two digs, and Cheyanne Mahoney finished with four.
