NTL VOLLEYBALL: TROY COMES UP SHORT AGAINST HOLY REDEEMER (2025-11-05)

WILKES-BARRE — Troy volleyball fell 3-1 to Holy Redeemer during the first round of the PIAA, Class AA Volleyball Playoffs Tuesday.

The Trojans lost the firs two sets 25-19 and 25-18 before rallying to win 25-19. However, the Royals stormed back for a 25-8 victory in the fourth set.

“We dug our hole early, and it’s hard to come back from,” Troy coach Abby Herman-Deitrick said. “I’m really impressed how they played during that third set to come back after getting swept in the first two. I feel like we made too many more mistakes than we should have, otherwise things might have gone a little bit different with all the rest of the sets.”

Aryana Andrus had 13 kills, five blocks, and three digs in the loss for Troy as Brenna Jackson had 24 assists, two kills, and 10 digs.

Amber White had three kills, one assist, and four digs, with Haidyn Watson adding six kills, one ace, and 12 digs.

Bella Wood had two kills, one block, and a dig, as Alli Bailey chipped in with 12 digs, and a kill.

Alexa Lawrence notched two kills, one assist, and five digs, as Liana Lyon had five digs.

This is Troy’s first trip to the state playoffs in 11 years, led by a talented senior class.

“I am so proud of those seniors,” Herman-Deitrick said. “They’ve been with me since eighth grade, so to see them put everything that I put into the Troy volleyball program, for them to bring it all out tonight and throughout this whole season, has just been incredible.”
