NTL CROSS-COUNTRY: TROY BOYS, GIRLS HAVE AN EXCITING RUNNING SEASON (2025-11-05)

Troy cross-country had another exciting season in 2025, with their boys coming one dual meet short of an NTL title while their girls were able to field a full team for most of the season.

The girls were rebuilding after losing state medalist Alyssa Parks last year.

“I was really proud of our runners and how hard they worked all off-season and throughout the year,” Troy coach Curtis Miller said. “On the girls' side, it was exciting to have a full team and to watch them improve in each race. Sheridan Wilcox, Kalynn Keltz, Alyssa Rinebold, Charlotte Kafka, and Sará VanNoy all got faster each week, and it was really something special to see all their hard work pay off on race day. We're really looking forward to adding a few of our junior high runners to the mix next season and to continue to grow our team.”

The boys went 8-2 on the year, their only losses to Class A district champions NEB, and to eventual NTL Large School champions Towanda.

They took third at the NTL Championships, and finished seventh in a very competitive District IV, Class AA field.

“For the boys, there were a lot of expectations coming into the year and I think that they did a great job of preparing themselves to the best of their ability,” Miller said. “We were led by our four seniors - Frank Harper, Brody Campbell, Ben Osgood, and Mason Wulff all year long and I think that they continued to set the standard for how to approach every practice and race. The NTL and our district was loaded with a lot of talent and I thought that our boys did a great job of rising to the occasion and being competitive.”

Looking forward the Trojans appear to be set to make another run at the NTL title, though they’ll have a tough Towanda squad to contend with.

“It was also an exciting year for some of our underclassmen as well,” Miller said. “RJ Bellinger has worked incredibly hard to be our number 1 in most races and Owen Campbell really had a breakout year. We're looking forward to those two runners to continue to lead us, and we're really excited to bring back Isaac Gates, Cooper Kellogg, Draden Keltz, Jasper Miller, Jasper Koch, Garrett Parks, Nolan Osgood, and to add a few new junior high runners.”
