NTL BOYS' SOCCER: TOWANDA FINISHES TOUGH SEASON STRONG (2025-11-08)
BY CHRIS MANNINGNorthern Tier Sports ReportIt wasn’t the season Towanda boys’ soccer envisioned in 2025, though they did end it strong with three straight wins.
Overall, the Black Knights went 5-13 on the season.
“Overall, not the record I was expecting,” said Towanda coach Tom Lambert. “The team dedicated themselves to the program. We will continue to improve in the off-season stuff. This team is always willing to put the time in to improve.”
After a close loss to Sullivan County (2-1) to open things up they fell against Williamson (4-0).
That was followed by wins against Troy (4-2) and Galeton (2-1) to level their record up at 2-2.
Then came the 11 game losing streak, though they did have close contests against Galeton (3-2), and NPL (3-1).
They ended that with a 4-1 win over Troy, which was followed by victories against Meadowbrook (3-1) and Shamokin (3-2).
They did see Blaiz Nichols earn his 500th career save on the season, while Ben Shrawder proved to be a force on offense.
Seniors Mason Harbst, Calogero Mignano, and Brayden West all contributed, while juniors Hudson Stevens, Brayden Spencer, and Colt Williams also played key roles.
The youngsters got plenty of time on the pitch, particularly Dalton Johnson, Josh Maye, Brody Hennessy, Blayke Spencer, and Harper Wells.
They lose just three seniors so they’re hoping they’ll be able to hit the ground running in 2026.
“Next year our team will be a bit older,” Lambert said. “The freshmen this year will have one year under their belt at the varsity level. Like every year, I am looking forward to next season.”
