In the inaugural event in bringing back the National Duals for Division 1 wrestling, Lehigh took on number 2 by InterMat wrestling, Nebraska, in the opening round. Leading off for Lehigh is Troy graduate Sheldon Seymour at 125 pounds. In a tight match, Seymour secured the takedown before giving up a late reversal to win by decision 4-3 over Alan Koehler. Lehigh as a team lost the dual 35-7.

Dropping to the consolation side of the bracket, Lehigh squared off with Arizona State University. Seymour drew Anee Vigil. Seymour started off Lehigh with the fall in 4:16 to give the Mountain Hawks the 6-0 lead. In the end, Lehigh prevailed 24-18 to move on to the next round.

In the second round of consolations, Lehigh faced Illinois. Seymour is again leading off the match. This time against number 23 by InterMat and returning national qualifier Spencer Moore. After a scoreless first period, Seymour secured a takedown to take a 3-2 lead into the third. After an escape and another takedown, Seymour added a ride time point to win by a 7-2 decision to give Lehigh the 3-0 lead. Unfortunately, Seymour’s pin wasn’t enough, as in the end, Lehigh lost the dual 21-13. This lost ended their time at the tournament, going 1-2. Seymour led the team, going 3-0. Lehigh wrestling will be back in action on December 5 when they host Pittsburgh.
