Things ratchet up today with six contests as several area teams get started and tournaments tip-off.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL
NEB (1-0) vs Meadowbrook Christian (0-0) at Montgomery Tournament, 5 p.m.: The opening round of Montgomery’s annual tournament, the Panthers look to capitalize off their big win over Blue Ridge.

Canton (0-1) vs Austin at Galeton Tournament: The Warriors will look to bounce back as they make their annual trek out to Galeton.

Troy vs Muncy at Sullivan County Tournament, 6 p.m.: The Trojans return to the annual tournament after missing last year as much of the team was playing in the state title game. Muncy was runners-up in districts a year ago.

Montrose at Towanda, 7 p.m.: The season opener for the Knights who have had some thrilling games against the Meteors in years past.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Canton vs Sullivan County at NPL Tournament: The Warriors take on the Griffins to open the season in their annual trip out to Liberty.

NEB at Blue Ridge, 6:45 p.m.: The Panthers head west to try their hand against Blue Ridge for their season opener.
