Back from Thanksgiving Break, College wrestling is back with a fun-filled weekend for our area athletes. Troy’s Sheldon Seymour, with number 15th-ranked Lehigh hosted number 20th-ranked rival Pittsburgh. While Williamson’s Kade Sottalono, with Lock Haven hosted in-state rival Clarion.

In Lehigh’s first home dual of the season, they hosted Pittsburgh. With the match starting at 157, Lehigh takes the early lead. While at the break, Pittsburgh comes back to tie the duel at 9-9. Heading into the second half of action, Seymour tried to extend  Lehigh’s lead. Seymour ranked number 4 by Intermat wrestling, taking on Tyler Chappel. Attempting hard for a bonus point win in the end, Seymour wins just by decision 9-3 to put Lehigh up 6 points in the team dual with 3 matches to go. Going into the final match with the score tied, Pittsburgh seals the deal grandly with a fall to win the duel 21-15. Lehigh next travels to the ever-daunting Rec Hall to take on number 1-ranked Penn State.

In Lock Haven’s first home duel of the season, they hosted Clarion. In the last bout of the duel, Kade Sottolano faced off against Lucas Thomas. Sottolano got the win by a major decision 16-4 to help Lock Haven win 30-10. Next up, Lock Haven travels to take on Wisconsin.
