NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: SULLIVAN USES BIG SECOND HALF TO TOP TROY FOR MOUNTAIN MADNESS TITLE (December 6, 2025)

LAPORTE — Sullivan County used a big second half to pull away from Troy to claim the Mountain Madness Boys’ Basketball Tournament, 64-47, on Saturday.

The Trojans led 30-26 at the half, but the Griffins poured in 38 second half points to get the win.

“I’m proud of our team’s fight,” said Sullivan County coach Glenn Vaughan. “We were down 29-19 at one point and just stayed relentless and kept believing. Troy has a nice team, and we knew tonight was gong to be tough. We had a great start to the second half, and I think that was important. This is a nice team win that we can build on moving forward.”

Lucas King was named the Tournament MVP while Colin King made the All-Tournament team for the Griffins.

Lucas King had 13 points, and seven assists, with Colin King getting 12 points, and four steals.

Tucker Blasi had 12 points, and four steals, with Calen Sweigart adding eight points, and four boards.

Cayden Smithkors notched seven points, and six rebounds, as Ryan Murray had six points, and six boards.

Dom Marotti added four points, with Jaiden Moore scoring two points.

Trey Teribury led Troy with 16 points as Spencer Martin had 11 points, five steals, and three assists.

Aiden Lawrence added seven points, with Evan Allen scoring six. Landon Cole had four points, four boards, and three assists, with Pryor Teribury getting two points.

Cameron Morey scored one point, and Josiah Pesesky added four rebounds.

Troy jumped out to a 15-10 first quarter lead as Trey Teribury had six points.

Sullivan would get back into the game in the second, out scoring Troy 16-15 with five different players scoring. Trey Teribury had another six points for the Trojans.

Things changed after the half as the Griffins out scored Troy 21-6 behind 10 made field goals. Colin King led the way with six points while Lucas King netted five.

Sullivan kept it going in the fourth as they out scored the Trojans 17-11 behind four points each from Murray and Lucas King.

Lawrence had five of his seven points in the fourth for Troy.

Sullivan won the JV game 51-27 behind 19 points from Carter Blasi.

Troy (1-1) hosts CV on Wednesday, while Sullivan (2-0) is at Millville on Tuesday.
