COLLEGE: TOWANDA'S HIGLEY GOES 2-1 AT TOURNAMENT (December 7, 2025)

Wrestling for Kent State at 197 pounds, Higley, opened in the Round of 16 versus Jeremiah Erickson of Seton Hill University. Higley wasted no time with the first takedown in 03 seconds, and the route was on. Higley with the first period technical fall 20-3 in 2:21 to move onto the next round.
In the quarterfinals, Higley faced Cole Tolley of West Virginia University (unattached). Once again, Higley didn’t waste any time with an early takedown to take the lead. At the 4:03 minute mark in the second period, Higley secured the fall after leading 12-2 to move on to the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals, Higley squared off against Seth Shumate of the Ohio State University. This time, Higley ran into a buzzsaw. Higley surrendered the loss by technical fall 19-4 in 7:00 to fall to the consolation bracket.
Wrestling in the consolation finals, Higley was to face his teammate, Blake Schaffer. There was no contest for this bout. This does happen a lot in college wrestling when it comes to wrestling teammates. Higley finished his day with a 2-1 record.
