NTL WRESTLING: TOWANDA TO INDUCT FOUR INTO WRESTLING HALL OF FAME (December 8, 2025)

Towanda Wrestling announced their 2025 Hall of Fame Class and it features four long time assistant coaches in Jake Stroud, Mike Geurin, Jeremy Sluyter, and Mike Maurer. The ceremony will be on Monday, December 15 against Wellsboro as part of their 70th Anniversary festivities. 

All four are being collectively inducted into the Towanda Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Since 1999 these coaches have collectively given 84 years of instruction, guidance, motivation, and leadership to hundreds of Black Knight wrestlers.

They’ve contributed to 477 of the program’s 944 dual meet wins, ranking eighth all-time out of the 540 teams that wrestle in Pennsylvania. During that span they’ve helped capture nine NTL titles, nine North Section title, and four District IV Team titles along with numerous Junior High Teams and individual titles.

Together, they’ve led Towanda wrestlers individually to 61 North Section Championships, 106 District IV medals, including 11 championships, and 43 state qualifiers, including 20 state medalists.

Jake Stroud competed for the Knights in the mid-90’s, and was part of a sectional title in 1997. Since he graduated he’s contributed to 26 years of coaching at all levels of the Towanda system.

Mike Geurin came to Towanda wrestling in 2001 after being a state medalist at Lake Lehman, and a Division-I All-American at Lock Haven, winning 100 matches for both programs. 

Mike Maurer was a 151-match winner for Towanda, with two state medalist, along with being a 3-year captain letterman for Lycoming College.
