NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: HOT SHOOTING, DEFENSE LEADS TOWANDA PAST SAYRE (December 10, 2025)
Northern Tier Sports ReportSAYRE — Four different Towanda players hit double figures as the hot shooting Black Knights downed Sayre, 69-12, during NTL girls’ basketball action Wednesday.
Towanda led 47-6 at the half as the hit eight 3-balls. For the game they shot 45-percent from deep, and 53-percent from the field.
Brynn Woodruff had 16 points, seven boards, and two steals to lead the Knights as Mya Maynard added 15 points, eight boards, and two steals.
Payton Perry went 4-for-5 from deep en route to 14 points, while adding four boards, five assists, and three steals.
Karis Flynn was 3-for-3 from behind the race, with 11 points and two steals, while
Mary-Kate Eberlin, and Maris Cobb had four points apiece. Eberlin also had three steals, with Cobb nabbing four boards, and two steals.
Kennedy Heyer had three points, and Taylor Aquilio added two points.
Rylee Lantz led Sayre with eight points.
Perry had 11 points in the first quarter to lead Towanda, including three of her team’s six deep balls as they took a 25-2 lead.
Maynard led the way in the second quarter with six points as they out scored Sayre 22-4. In the third they held Sayre scoreless to go up 62-6.
Towanda also won the JV game with Cobb scoring 23, Aquilio netting 15, Reese Sullivan had 14, and Ali Hollett added 10.
Towanda (1-1) hosts Williamson on Friday.
