NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: TROY USES BIG SECOND QUARTER TO DOWN CANTON (December 12, 2025)
Northern Tier Sports ReportTROY — In a defensive battle Troy downed Canton, 48-22, during NTL girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Trojans led 24-12 at the half, then held the Warriors to 10 second half points as they pulled away.
Kyah Renzo had 14 points, while Giana Renzi had 11 points, including three 3-balls. Izzy Renzi netted eight, Emma Mickley scored six, with Raelyn Woodward, and Haidyn Watson both adding two.
Cailyn Van Noy led Canton with seven points, as Danah Wesneski notched six. Stella Rockwell scored five, and Alexis McRoberts chipped in with four.
It was 6-4 Troy after one as Renzo had four for the Trojans.
In the second they exploded for 18 points, as Giana Renzi hit a pair of 3-balls, and Renzo and Izzy Renzi had five points each.
Van Noy had four points to lead Canton in the frame.
Troy out scored Canton 10-7 in the third behind 3-pointers from the Renzi sisters, while Van Noy paced the Warriors with three points.
The Trojans then out scored Canton 9-3 in the fourth with four different players finding the hoop.
Troy (2-1) will travel to NEB on Wednesday as Canton (2-1) hits the road to Meadowbrook Christian on Monday.
