NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: MORNINGSTAR'S BIG NIGHT LEADS WYALUSING PAST NEB (December 12, 2025)
Northern Tier Sports ReportWYALUSING — Wyalusing freshman Jenna Morningstar netted 18 points, 12 of them in the fourth quarter, as the Rams pulled away from NEB, 58-43, during NTL girls’ hoops action Friday.
The Panthers led 12-8 after one, but a 15-point second frame by Wyalusing saw them take a 23-18 lead.
They pushed the lead to 33-27 after three before out scoring the Panthers 25-16 in the fourth.
Alysha Botts added 16 points for Wyalusing with Treanna Nickeson scoring 12. Emily Johns had six, Brinley Sterling scored four, and Callee Warner rounded things out with two.
Leah Beebe had 17 points, six boards, five assists, and two steals to lead the Panthers as Katrina Russell and Kara Dughi had eight points apiece. Russell also grabbed six rebounds.
Mallorie Maynard and Aurelia Kolesar both scored four, with Kolesar getting six boards, and three assists, as Maynard grabbed five boards.
Izzy Kapr chipped in with two.
Beebe had five points to lead NEB as they took the 4-point first quarter advantage, while Kolesar scored four. Morningstar led the Rams with four points.
The Wyalusing backcourt came alive in the second as Nickeson had six points and Botts netted five to allow the Rams to pull ahead.
Botts led Wyalusing with six points in the third, while for NEB four different players scored.
Then came the final frame with Wyalusing scoring 11 field goals. Beebe tried to keep pace as she scored nine points herself, but couldn’t hang with the Rams.
NEB (1-1) will host Troy on Wednesday, while Wyalusing (1-1) travels to Sayre.
