NTL WRESTLING: WYALUSING DOMINATES THE LOWER WEIGHTS AS THEY TOP ATHENS (December 12, 2025)

ATHENS — Wyalusing won six of the first eight matches as they out ran Athens, 41-32, during NTL wrestling action Friday.

The Rams won seven of the 13, six of them by fall or forfeit as Isaiah Harvey (127), Bostyn McMicken (133), Cole Patrick (139), Griffin Sheldon (145), and Jonathan Earle (160) all got falls. 

Austin Jones (121) had a forfeit, with Logan Wood (114) earning a technical fall.

Athens rallied in the heavyweights as Connor Davidson (189), and Brenden Comstock (285) both scored falls, with Chace VanDyke (107) getting a forfeit.

Treyton Barrett (152), and Karson Sipley (172) each had a tech fall, as Brendan Cooke (215) added a 16-4 major decision.

Starting at 107 Van Dyke got Athens on the scoreboard first, only to watch as the Rams scored 35 straight points to take control.

It was close early at 114 as Wood led 4-3 after the first period, but then added a takedown and a set of back points to go up 11-3. 

In the third he got rolling with three takedowns for the 21-6 victory in 6:00.

Jones would put the Rams up with his forfeit at 121, 11-6.

Harvey and McMicken followed with a pair of first period falls, with Harvey pinning Urijah Souder in 1:18, while McMicken pinned Wilson Kinsman in 56 seconds for a 23-6 lead.

At 139 Patrick and Lucas Persun were 0-0 after one. Patrick got a takedown in the second to go up 3-0, then scored an escape and another takedown in the third for a 7-0 lead.

He was able to get the bonus points with the fall at 5:53 to make it 29-6 Rams.

At 145 Sheldon led 4-3 after one on Wyatt clink, then out scored him 8-2 in the second to go up 12-5. In the third Sheldon got the takedown, then pinned him in 4:17 for the 35-6 lead.

Athens ended the run at 152 as Barrett scored a 21-6 tech fall in 3:04 to make it 35-11.

That’s when Earle shut the door with his first period fall on Ryan Howard in 1:49, scoring two takedowns before the pin.

At 172 Sipley won 15-0 over Conner Earle in 4:42, while Davidson got the fall in 52 seconds against Graesyn Vaow at 189.

At 215 Cooke got a takedown in the first and second periods for a 6-2 lead. In the third he got two more takedowns, plus a penalty point, for the 16-4 difference.

At 285 Comstock got two takedowns before getting the fall on Brenden Wells in 1:18.

Wyalusing (6-3) returns home on Tuesday as they host NEB.
