NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: TOWANDA RALLIES PAST MUNCY FOR TOURNAMENT TITLE (December 14, 2025)

Northern Tier Sports Report
MUNCY — Towanda boys’ basketball used a big fourth quarter rally to down Muncy, 48-41, and claim the Muncy Tournament Title on Saturday.

The Knights entered the final frame down 36-31 but out scored the Indians 17-5 in the fourth to claim the championship.

“Gutty win tonight,” said Towanda coach Landon Henry. “I am happy for our locker room. We were tested in a lot of situations tonight against a well coached team. Credit to Muncy and Coach Gresh, they played a nice brand of basketball, and kept our guys honest.”

It was another group effort offensively with no player reaching double figures. Darrius Farrell and Keegan Stroud had nine points each, as Lucas Vincent, and Markell Garner both netted eight.

Boom Thompson notched five, Graham Welles added four, Josh Maye had three, and Landon Clark chipped in with two points.

Dominic Garudini led Muncy with 15 points.

“Overall, I was pleased that we did not panic in the face of adversity,” Henry said. “I feel like this was the type of game that you learn a lot about yourselves, and brings the group closer to together. Guys leaned on each other, and stayed the course down the stretch to earn a win for our program tonight. If our guys continue to defend with the same level of urgency and activity, but with a bit more discipline, I feel like we put ourselves in better positions to win.”

The Knights led 8-2 after one as Garner scored six in the first quarter.

They out scored Muncy 21-19 in the second behind six points from Stroud as they took an 8-point lead into the half.

The Indians held them to just four points in the third to take the five point lead into the fourth.

In the final frame Towanda was perfect from the line - 8-for-8 - as Farrell and Vincent had four points each to lead them.

Towanda (4-0) travels to Williamson on Tuesday.
