NTL WRESTLING: TROY MAKES A RUN AT WILLIAMSON, BUT ULTIMATELY FALLS (December 17, 2025)

TIOGA JUNCTION — Troy lost nine of 13 matches as they fell to Williamson, 45-18, during NTL wrestling action Tuesday.

The Trojans got a forfeit from Garret Parks (107), a tech from Logunn Heasley (152), a major out of Hunter Watson (160), and a Wilder Koch decision (145).

For the Warriors Zander Wilson (114), Walker Hyde (121), and Steven Olson (172) all had forfeits as Riley Roll (289), and Ben Freeman (215) both scored falls.

Xander Stafford (127), Hunter Simonds (133), and Kohen Vanelinider (139) each had a major decision, while in the highlight match Luke Sottolano (285) scored a 4-1 win over Reed Palmer.

After the three forfeits to start the match the Warriors led 12-6.

Stafford would score three takedowns, and two sets of back points for the 16-6 win over Jordan, followed by Simonds scoring three takedowns, and one set of near fall points for the 13-2 win over Frisbie.

At 139 it was scoreless after one, but then Vanelinder notched five near fall points in the second, then added a pair of takedowns in the third to get the bonus point win for a 24-6 score.

Koch would use a first period takedown, and then four near fall points in the second period for his 8-3 win over Ryder Dacheux to cut it to 24-9.

That started a Troy run as Heasley used one takedown, and four sets of back points to get the 17-0 tech fall in 1:19 over Jayden Boyce, followed by Watson scoring three takedowns, and a set of back points for his 12-3 win over Anthony Baker to make it 24-18.

Olson’s forfeit ended that momentum, extending Williamson’s lead to 30-18, with Roll’s fall over Thomas Moon in 2:16 securing the win over the Warriors.

Freeman would pin James Deakin in 1:22 for a 42-18 score going into the final bout.

At heavyweight Sottolano used a first period takedown to get up on Palmer. He get an escape in the second, Palmer got one in the third for the 4-1 final.

Troy (1-2) will be at the Panther Holiday Tournament this weekend.
