NTL FOOTBALL: TROY'S SMITH HEADLINES BC FOOTBALL ALL-STARS (December 26, 2025)

It was another exciting football season, especially for Troy and Athens. Both teams went 9-1 during the regular season, as Troy also made their third straight District IV title game.

For the Trojans quarterback Mason Smith both ran and threw for 1,000-yards. He had 18 touchdowns against one interception passing the ball, while running for 20 touchdowns on the ground.

Defensively, Smith had 57 tackles on the year from the safety position to lead Troy, earning him the Bradford County Football Player of the Year honors.

Joining him as a major award winner is teammate Brendan Gilliland. Gilliland ran for 1,333 yards on 109 carries for a 12.2 yards per carry average. He had 21 touchdowns on the ground to lead the team, earning him the Offensive Player of the Year honors.

Blocking for both was center Micah Pesesky, who led an offensive line that was the main driver for a rushing attack that racked up 3,900 yards, earning him the Lineman of the Year honors.

The Troy coaching staff, led by Jimmy Smith, led the Trojans to a third straight league title, and a third straight trip to the District IV, Class AA title game, earning them the Coaching Staff of the Year honors.

Athens’ Brenden Comstock was a force for the Wildcat defensive line. He finished with 89 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and four sacks, while also forcing three fumbles, earning him the Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Fellow Wildcat Connor Davidson powered the Athens offense, throwing for 1,706-yards and 22 touchdowns against five interceptions. He also ran for 850-yards and 11 scores, earning him Most Dangerous Player honors.

Canton’s Marcus Solomon led a Warrior defense with 78 tackles in his first year at Canton, earning him the Newcomer of the Year honors.

The first team offense consists of Smith at quarterback, with Gilliland and Athens’ Karson Sipley at the running back spots. Troy’s Kael Millard is the fullback.

The wide receivers are Athens’ James Friend, and Troy’s Trey Teribury, while Wyalusing’s Andrew Taylor is the tight end.

The offensive linemen are Pesesky, along with his teammates Seth Feldmeier, Camden Coyle, and Christian Pazzaglia, along with Athens’ Chase Wren.

Davidson is the athlete, while Wyalusing’s Jonathan Earle is in the utility spot.

The first team defensive line is Comstock, Canton’s Jake Pepper, and Troy’s duo of Reed Palmer, and Roland Smith.

The linebackers are Solomon, Troy’s Jayden Kutt, and Wyalusing’s Ethan Vanderpool, while in the defensive backfield are Troy’s duo of Logunn Heasley, and Josiah Pesesky, Athens’ Lucas Persun, and Towanda’s Tanner Vanderpool.

The first team kicker is Troy’s Gavin Lykon-Leffler, while the punter is Athens’ Zach Fisher.

The second team offense is led by quarterback Owen Moore of Canton, while the running backs are Canton’s Bailey Gardner, and Towanda’s Jazik Brown. 

Sayre’s Hudson Malanoski is the fullback, with Athens’ Gage Marmor, and Canton’s Ryder Route the receivers.

The offensive linemen are Troy’s Evan Slater, Towanda’s Kolton McPeak, and Dominik Miller, Canton’s Elijah Kilmer, and Wyalusing’s Conner Earle.

Towanda’s Curtis Maynard is the athlete.

The second team defense has Sayre’s Logan Zingeser, Canton’s Blaine Wesneski, and Sayre’s Tucker Green on the line, with Athens’ Brady Flynn, and Canton’s Dawson Burgess at linebacker.

The defensive backs are Troy’s Spencer Martin, Athens’ Sean Peters, and Connor Garrison, and Wyalusing’s Reuben Kinney.

On special teams are Canton’s Alexis McRoberts as kicker, with Sayre’s Kiyshon Kole as the punter.
