ON TAP TODAY: POST CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENTS GET STARTED (December 27, 2025)

Northern Tier Sports Report
The Christmas break sports activity starts today with three area teams at the Josh Palmer Fund Tournament while Canton wrestling is at a tournament.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Towanda vs Ithaca, 1:30 p.m. at Elmira High School: Towanda’s in a regional tournament and will play two games over the next couple days. A win here and they move to Tuesday, a loss and they play Monday.

Troy vs St. Mary’s at Elmira High School, 5 p.m.: Troy is in the National tournament and will play three games. A loss here and they play at 10 a.m. on Monday, a win and they play at 3 p.m.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Troy vs Edison at Ernie Davis Academy, 11:45 a.m.: A morning tip-off, if the Trojans get the win they play on Tuesday, if they lose they Sunday at 12:15 p.m.

Sullivan County (6-0) at Towanda (7-1), 4:30 p.m.: The game got moved back two hours to do last night’s storm. The Griffins come in undefeated while the Knights suffered their first loss of the season against Mt. Carmel right before Christmas.

WRESTLING
Canton at Tuner Holiday Classic: The 2-day tournament will be today and Sunday as Canton will face 30 other teams across three states - including Florida.
