NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: TROY HOLDS OFF BISHOP KEARNEY, PUNCHES TICKET TO FIFTH PLACE GAME (December 29, 2025)

ELMIRA, N.Y. — Troy rebounded from their first round loss as they beat Bishop Kearney 48-39 during the Josh Palmer Fund National Girls’ Bracket Monday.

The Trojans led 28-20 at the half only to see Kearney cut it to 34-32 going into the fourth.

In the final frame Troy out scored Kearney 14-7 - holding them to just two field goals in the process - to punch their ticket to the fifth place game Tuesday at 12:30 p.m.

Giana Renzi netted 12 points to lead the Trojans as Raelynne Woodward added 11.

Haidyn Watson scored nine, Kyah Renzo added seven, Emma Mickley added six, and Izzy Renzi chipped in with three.

Troy jumped out to a 15-8 first quarter lead led by Watson’s six points, while Giana and Izzy both hit 3-pointers.

The second frame was more even with Troy out scoring Kearny 13-12 as Woodward netted five.

Kearney would hit three 3-pointers in the third to make it a 2-point game, but in the fourth Woodward, and Mickley had four points each to bring home the win.
