LATE 3-BALL SINKS SULLIVAN COUNTY AGAINST LOURDES IN OT (December 30, 2025)
Northern Tier Sports ReportLAPORTE — A Brighton Scicchitano 3-ball with four seconds left propelled Lourdes past Sullivan County, 46-45, in overtime during non-league boys’ hoops action Tuesday.
The Griffins led 27-16 at the half, but saw Lourdes rally with 16 fourth quarter points to send the game into overtime. In the extra period the Griffins were leading until winning bucket.
Dom Marotti had 13 points to lead Sullivan, as Cayden Smithkors added eight.
Jaiden Moore, Tucker balsa, and Lucas King had seven points each, with Moore also getting eight boards, as Colin King notched two points, and Ryan Murray scored one.
Scicchitano had 13 to lead Lourdes.
Lourdes led 12-10 after one with Blasi netting four to lead the Griffins.
Led by Marotti’s nine points, Sullivan out scored Lourdes 17-4 in the second quarter to take the 11 point lead at the break.
Lourdes rallied in the third, out scoring Sullivan 9-4 to cut it to 31-25 as they entered the fourth.
In the final frame Moore, and Blasi had three points apiece for Sullivan, but Scicchitano had six to lead the Lourdes comeback.
The Griffins were able to nurse a lead in the overtime period, but went just 2-for-4 from the free throw line, setting up the game winner.
Sullivan won the JV game 31-28 behind 15 points from Liam Busch.
The Griffins (6-2) will host Benton on Saturday with a 1:30 p.m. JV start.
