Northern Tier Sports ReportIt may have been cold outside but the performances inside were hot this past week. There were plenty of big performances despite two days without action over the New Year’s Holiday.
For the boys Wyalusing’s Cole Patrick, and Troy’s Trey Teribury had big weeks as they’re the Male Co-Athletes of the Week.
Patrick stayed undefeated on the season, claiming the Jim Thorpe title, then a few days later going 6-0 at the Line Mountain Duals.
Teribury was named MVP as his team captured the Josh Palmer bracket title, then had a double-double in an exciting loss to Waverly on Saturday.
On the girls’ side Canton’s Cailyn Van Noy was named the Canton Christmas Tournament MVP, leading the Warriors past two close wins over Sullivan County, and NP-Liberty to retain the title. She’s the Female Athlete of the Week.
