NTL BOYS' BASKETBALL: NEB ROLLS PAST SAYRE (January 9, 2026)

SAYRE — NEB rolled to a 72-26 boys’ basketball win over Sayre during NTL Small School action Thursday.

The Panthers led 23-7 after one, and never looked back.

Cooper Brown kept his hot hand with 27 points to lead NEB, with Nate Gross, and Clay Wilks scoring 10 points apiece.

Daniel Barrett, and Dayton Russell both scored eight, as Eli Stanton had four. Mac Burgert netted three, with Brody Allen rounding things out with two points.

Declan Berry scored 12 to lead Sayre.

Brown had 16 of NEB’s 23 first quarter points, while Sayre kept it closer in the second quarter, being out scored just 13-10.

A 20-point third quarter from the Panthers put the game out of reach as Brown had eight while a total of six players scored in the third. 

Gross lit up the fourth, netting all 10 of his points in the frame.

NEB (9-2) travels to CV next Tuesday.
