SULLIVAN COUNTY CAN'T HOLD OFF ST. JOHN NEUMANN (January 17, 2026)

WILLIAMSPORT — Sullivan County fell 51-44 to St. John Neumann during Mid-Penn boys’ hoops action Saturday.

The Griffins led 16-9 after the first quarter but Neumann chipped away, cutting the deficit to 35-34 going into the fourth.

In the final frame Neumann out scored them 17-9 to get the win.

Cayden Smithkors had 11 points, and eight boards for the Griffins, as Ryan Murray added seven points.

Tucker Blasi notched eight points, six boards, and three steals.

Dom Marotti netted six points, while Lucas King, and Colin King had four points apiece. Colin King also grabbed 12 rebounds.

Jaiden Moore, and Calen Sweigart had two points apiece.

Jahari Brister had 14 points to lead Neumann.

Smithkors had four points, while Marotti hit a 3-ball, to pace Sullivan’s first quarter lead.

Neumann cut their lead to 29-25 at the half with six different Griffins scoring in the second quarter.

Sullivan was held to just six points in the third as they say their lead dwindle to one point.

Blasi went off for six of Sullivan’s nine fourth quarter points, but Dayton Thompson, and Brister combined for 12 of Neumann’s 17 points to get the win.

Sullivan won the JV game 54-20 behind 26 from Carter Blasi.

Sullivan (12-3) will host Montgomery on Tuesday.
