Northern Tier Sports Report
It’s past the halfway point of the basketball season, while this is the last week of wrestling before District IV Duals.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Monday, January 19
Sullivan County (6-8) at Towanda (10-3), 7:30 p.m.: It’s been and up-and-down last four games for the Knights as they open the week at home. Sullivan is 3-3 in their last six games.

Tuesday, January 20
Towanda (10-3) at CV (3-12), 7:30 p.m.: After a 7-game losing streak to start the season the Indians are 3-2 in their last five. The Knights have gone 2-2 in their last four games.

Troy (11-3) at Sayre (0-10), 7:30 p.m.: Troy takes their five game win streak to Sayre as they look to stay undefeated in league action.

NEB (9-2) at NP-Mansfield (8-6), 7:30 p.m.: The Tigers have gone 4-1 over their last fast while NEB is riding an 8-game win streak.

Canton (10-3) at Athens (6-7), 7:30 p.m.: The Wildcats are 3-3 in their last six games while Canton is riding a 3-game win streak.

Williamson (5-6) at Wyalusing (7-6), 7:30 p.m.: The Rams are 4-1 in their last five while the Warriors are 2-1 in their last three.

Thursday, January 22
Canton (10-3) at Towanda (10-3), 7:30 p.m.: As both teams are second in their divisions and are trying to keep pace with the leaders.

Athens (6-7) at NEB (9-2), 7:30 p.m.: The Panthers are riding high after wins over Muncy, and South Williamsport, while the Wildcats are working to get back to .500.

Wyalusing (7-6) at NP-Liberty (5-6), 7:30 p.m.: The Mounties are 3-2 in their last five, while the Rams look to rebound from their loss to Towanda last week.

Williamson (5-6) at Troy (11-3), 7:30 p.m.: The Trojans look to stay undefeated in NTL action.

Friday, January 23
Canton (10-3) at Montgomery (2-9), 7:30 p.m.: The Red Raiders are 2-1 in their last three games.

Saturday, January 24
Wyalusing (7-6) at Delaware Valley, 1:30 p.m.: The Rams take on the bigger school as part of their tough non-league schedule.

CV (3-12) at NEB (9-2), 2:30 p.m.:
A make-up from last week as the Panthers look to keep their grip on top of the NTL Small School standings.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Monday, January 19
CV (4-10) at Canton (0-13), 7:30 p.m.: The Warriors narrowly knocked off Sayre at home last week, they’ll be looking to top a CV team that comes in on a 3-game losing streak.

Wednesday, January 21
NP-Mansfield (7-6) at NEB (12-2), 7:30 p.m.: The Panthers host a Tigers team that just had a big win over Towanda, though they fell to Troy.

Sayre (3-11) at Troy (7-6), 7:30 p.m.:
It’s been a roller coaster season for the Trojans, and they’ll look to stay on the upside against Sayre.

CV (4-10) at Towanda (11-3), 7:30 p.m.: The Knights have hit a bump in the road, going 1-2 in their last three, as they welcome the Indians.

Wyalusing (4-7) at Williamson (2-10), 7:30 p.m.: The Rams have had a few close games that got away from them as they take on a Warriors team whose two wins have come against winless Canton.

Athens (8-5) at Canton (0-13), 7:30 p.m.: The Warriors take on an Athens team that has won three of their last four.

Friday, January 23
NP-Liberty (8-5) at Wyalusing (4-7), 7:30 p.m.: The Rams will host a Mounties team that has won seven of the last eight.

NEB (12-2) at Athens (8-5), 7:30 p.m.: Another big cross-over contest as the Panthers take on an Athens team that has won two in a row.

Towanda (11-3) at Canton (0-13), 7:30 p.m.: The Knights head down 414 as Canton’s home stand continues.

Troy (7-6) at Williamson (2-10), 7:30 p.m.: The Trojans takes on another Small League team coming off a pair of tough losses to NEB.

WRESTLING
Tuesday, January 20
Wyalusing (14-5) at NP-Liberty (2-9), 7 p.m.: The Rams are two wins away from a league title, and will look to wrap that up this week, beginning at Liberty.

Wellsboro (1-19) at NEB (10-5), 7 p.m.: The Panthers had lost two straight coming into the week.

Wednesday, January 21

Towanda (12-8) at Athens (5-2), 7 p.m.: The Knights finish up their NTL season with a trip to the valley to face a Wildcat team that’s won four in a row.

Troy (9-9) at Canton (8-7), 7 p.m.: The Trojans need a win here to make district duals, while the Warriors come in a 3-match win streak.

Thursday, January 22
Williamson (8-1) at Wyalusing (14-5), 7 p.m.: The Rams finish up the league season at home as they look to top a Warriors team that recently won their duals tournament.

Friday, January 23 - Saturday, January 24
Troy, Canton, Wyalusing, Towanda at Ultimate Warrior: One of the top tournaments of the season as these teams get ready for the postseason.

NEB at Bedford Tournament: Another big tournament features teams from out west.

GIRLS’ WRESTLING
Tuesday, January 20
Wellsboro at NEB, 6 p.m.: The Lady Panthers are coming off the Coal Cracker while the Hornets have a loss to the Knights, but a win over Williamson.

Wednesday, January 21
Towanda at Athens, 6 p.m.: The two teams will wrestle to see who is the best in the NTL. Athens took second at Coal Cracker, while the Knights are coming off a win over Jersey Shore.

Saturday, January 24

Towanda at Bald Eagle Invitational: The Lady Knights head to Bald Eagle to take on some of the best teams out of central Pa.

SWIMMING & DIVING
Tuesday, January 20

Wellsboro at Towanda, 4 p.m.: The Knights finally get a home meet as they host the Hornets.

Saturday, January 24

Wellsboro, Jersey Shore at Towanda, 11 a.m.: The Knights bring in two teams to end the week.
