NTL GIRLS' BASKETBALL: WOODWARD, RENZI LEAD TROY PAST SAYRE (January 21, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportSAYRE — For the fourth time in five games Troy girls’ basketball held an opponent scoreless in the first quarter as they rolled past Sayre, 67-4, during NTL action Tuesday.
It was 22-0 after one, with Troy extending the lead to 38-0 at the half. The Trojans out scored Sayre 29-4 in the second half.
Troy’s Raelyn Woodward had the hot hand, shooting 6-for-8 on the day, 4-for-6 from deep, for 16 points, to go with two steals, while Giana Renzi notched 12 points, three steals, and three assists.
Haidyn Watson had eight points, and four steals, while Kyah Renzo added six points, five boards, and five steals.
Emma Mickley chipped in with six points, as Taylor Lee scored five. Zyra Hughson, and Jaz Frisbie had four points each, Kyli Oldroyd scored three, with Emilee Purcell netting two.
Izzy Renzi added one point, five rebounds, and three steals.
Woodward had eight first quarter points to lead Troy, as Giana netted seven.
Both Woodward, and Watson had five points each in the second frame.
Six different Trojans scored in the third, while int eh fourth Hughson led the way with four points.
Troy won the JV game 48-4 behind 20 points from Oldroyd, and 12 out of Frisbie.
Troy (12-3) will host Williamson on Thursday.
