NTL WRESTLING: NEB'S ALEXANDER REACHES SEMIFINALS AT THOMAS AUTOMOTIVE (January 23, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportBEDFORD — NEB has four wrestlers left after day one of the Thomas Automotive Wrestling Classic on Friday.
Mason Alexander (114) reached the semifinals, while Alex Gomez (145), Asher Kolesar (189), and Kale Howland (160) are all still alive in the consolations.
Alexander scored two first period falls to get into the final four, winning his first bout in 19 seconds, while taking the second in 1:46.
Gomez opened the tournament with a 41 second fall, but was pinned in the next round.
He won back to back consolation bouts by falls, the first in 1:33, and the second in 1:29.
Kolesar won his first two bouts, taking the first by fall in 28 seconds, then pulling out a 4-1 in the next round.
In the quarterfinals he lost 9-1 to fall into the consolations.
Howland won his first two matches, getting a fall in 2:34 to start things off, then pulling out a 7-4 decision.
He lost by a 16-0 tech fall in the quarterfinals.
Connor Eastabrook (152), and Hunter Comstock (127) both went 2-2, with Maddex Rooker (133) going 1-2.
Kelton Raymond (145), and Will Chappell (139) both went 0-2.
Wrestling concludes on Saturday.
