NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: CAILYN VAN NOY LEADS CANTON PAST WELLSBORO (January 27, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportCANTON — Canton breezed by Wellsboro, 53-18, during NTL girls’ hoops action Tuesday.
The Warriors led 12-7 after one, then extended their lead to 27-14 at the half.
A 20 point third quarter sealed the deal for Canton.
Cailyn Van Noy had 21 points, four steals, and three assists to lead the Warriors, as Lydia Roupp notched eight points, four boards, and two steals.
Stella Rockwell had seven points, five assists, and two steals, with Dana Wesneski, and Brenna Van Noy getting six points apiece. Wesneski also had two steals.
Alexis McRoberts added four points and 10 rebounds, as Cheyanne Fitch netted one point.
Daveian Crowley chipped in with two steals.
Lena Rothermel led the Hornets with six points.
Cailyn Van Noy had 10 of her team’s 12 first quarter points to get things started out of the gates.
Her teammates got going in the second, as six different Canton players scored in the frame.
The Warriors would hit four 3-balls in the third - two from Cailyn, one from Brenna, and Wesneski - as they took a 47-14 lead going into the fourth.
Canton held Wellsboro scoreless in the third.
Roupp had all six of Canton’s fourth quarter points.
Canton (13-4) will travel to CV on Thursday.
