NTL WRESTLING: TROY FALLS LATE TO HUGHESVILLE IN D4 DUALS (January 28, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportMIFFLINBUG — Troy kept it close with Hughesville, but fell 31-18 during District IV Duals preliminary action Wednesday.
The Spartans won six of the 10 bouts as there were double forfeits at 133, 160, and 189.
Garret Parks (107), and Keagan Kerr (127) both had falls for Troy, with Logunn Heasley (145), and Hunter Watson (152) earning high scoring decisions.
Ethan Woodrig (139), Kile Hartman (172), and Jakob Charles (215) all had falls for Hughesville, as Joe Laubacher (114) earned a forfeit.
Hunter Stevens (121) earned a major decision, while Colton Woolover (285) notched a decision.
Parks gave Troy a 6-0 lead with his 2:33 fall over Kellan Smith, though the forfeit to Laubacher tied things up.
Stevens’ 12-3 major decision over Anthony Jordan put Hughesville up 10-6, but Kerr’s pin of Cameron Styron in 1:00 saw the Trojans take a 12-10 lead.
Woodrig would pin Wilder Koch in 53 seconds for a 16-12 Spartan lead.
Troy rallied, though, as Heasley won 17-14 over Brogan Sherwood, out scoring him 8-2 in the third to rally.
Watson then won 17-12 over Landon Puderbach, going up 11-1 in the first period, then riding that to victory, giving Troy the 18-16 lead.
Hughesville won the final three bouts as Hartman pinned Thomas Moon in 2:16, while Charles pinned James Deakin in 2:51.
At heavyweight Woolover beat Reed Palmer 6-2. Palmer led 2-1 going into the third, but five points for Woolover gave him the win.
