Northern Tier Sports ReportThe girls take center stage today, headlined by two big league games of Towanda at Troy and Canton at NEB.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALLTowanda (14-4) at Troy (15-3), 7:30 p.m.: The Trojans can clinch the league title with a win over Towanda. At the district level Troy is firmly in second place, while Towanda is battling for third with Loyalsock, Mt. Carmel, and Line Mountain.
Canton (14-4) at NEB (15-2), 7:30 p.m.: A win by the Panthers gives them their seventh straight league title, while a win by the Warriors keeps their NTL title hopes alive. At the district level NEB is firmly into second place, while Canton is chasing Northwest for third.
Wyalusing (10-8) at Wellsboro (4-14), 7:30 p.m.: The Rams will be looking for a win to clinch their district spot as they look to hold off NPM for the seventh seed in districts.
SWIMMING & DIVINGBloomsburg, Athens, at Towanda, 4:30 p.m.: The Knights welcome two teams as the regular season winds down.
WRESTLINGTroy at South Williamsport, 7 p.m.: The Trojans wind down the regular season with a trip south.
