SULLIVAN COUNTY HOLDS OFF LATE NCC CHARGE FOR WIN (February 3, 2026)

LAPORTE — Sullivan County got their fourth win in five days, beating Northumberland 43-32 during non-league boys’ hoops action Tuesday.

The Griffins led just 9-4 after one, but were able to use a 14-point second quarter to open up a 23-10 lead at the half.

The two teams had eight points each in the third quarter, while Sullivan held off an NCC rally in the fourth to get the win.

Lucas King had 15 points to lead Sullivan, as Colin King added 10 points, eight boards, and seven steals.

Tucker Blasi notched eight points to go with four assists, as Dom Marotti added five points. Cayden Smithkors had three, with Ryan Murray scoring two.

Ethan Bennett had 15 to lead NCC.

Four different Griffins scored in the opening frame, while in the second Lucas King hit two of his team’s three 3-balls to out score NCC 14-6.

Bennett had six of his team’s eight third quarter points with Blasi, and Lucas King both getting 3-pointers for Sullivan.

In the fourth the Griffins went 6-for-8 from the free throw line to help ice the game.

Sullivan County (18-3) is off until next Tuesday, when they host Wyalusing in their regular season finale.
