NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: NEB TOPS CANTON (February 4, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportCANTON — NEB defeated Canton, 83-18, during NTL boys’ hoops action Wednesday.
The Panthers led 27-4 after the first quarter and never looked back.
Cooper Brown had 23 points to lead NEB, as Eli Stanton, and Dan Barrett finished with 13 points apiece.
Clay Wilks netted 10 points, Dayton Russell scored seven, with Nate Gross and Mac Burgert adding six points each.
Anthony Johnson finished with three points, as Landon Knolles finished with two points.
Monte Whitehead had 12 points to lead Canton, with Ryder Route scoring two, and Kix Carr adding one.
Brown had 11 first quarter points to lead NEB, while the Panthers extended the lead to 46-6 at the half behind Stanton, Barrett, Russell, and Wilks scoring four points apiece.
NEB out scored Canton 19-10 in the third as Brown had nine for the Panthers, while Whitehead led the Warriors with six.
All of NEB’s 18 points in the fourth came from behind the arc.
NEB hosts Sayre on Friday while Canton wraps up their season at NP-Liberty.
