NTL WRESTLING: WYALUSING'S THREE SENIORS HAVING YEAR TO REMEMBER (February 5, 2026)
BY CHRIS MANNINGNorthern Tier Sports ReportHaving one wrestler hit 100 wins in their career is rare enough, to have three do it in one season — and all within a week of each other — is a once-in-a-generation type event.
In a week’s span, Wyalusing Valley’s Jonathan Earle, Isaiah Harvey and Cole Patrick all hit the century mark in wins, with Harvey and Patrick doing it on the same day.
“It feels pretty good,” Patrick said about getting the milestone. “I probably should have been there last year. I’ve missed a lot of wrestling.”
Patrick missed nearly all of last season due to injuries, but racked up 36 wins as a freshman and 24 as a sophomore to give him a good base for hitting the mark this year.
So far he’s 33-2 — with both losses medical forfeits — and going into the individual postseason with a strong headwind.
“I’ve faced quite a bit of adversity over the last couple of years, but I’ve been grinding all summer,” Patrick said.
Now he has one goal in mind.
“I’m ready to get that state medal.”
Harvey had his fair share of injuries as well but has been a 20-match winner in all four years of varsity wrestling, including 31 a year ago.
“It’s something you always think about all through varsity,” remarked Harvey. “It’s something that you’re always excited to finally get to.
“Everybody gets injured, that’s just a part of wrestling, but you’ve got to work through it, whether you’re sick or injured. I’ve gotten injured quite a few times, and you just push through it when you can.”
He was expecting to get it at Ultimate Warrior on Jan. 23-24, but had to bow out of that tournament due to illness.
“I knew today was most likely going to be when I was going to get it,” Harvey said at District Four Duals.
Earle has been a mainstay in the Wyalusing line-up, improving each season.
He had 20 wins as a freshman, 26 as a sophomore, 29 last year and broke the 30-win mark this year, currently sitting at 32.
“It’s just a big relief,” remarked Earle. “It lets me open up and wrestle more free.
“In the beginning of the year it wasn’t on my mind. I knew I would get it. But, even at the end of the year, I still knew I would get it, but it was hard not to think about it.”
Earle believes the best is still ahead for him.
“I feel like I’ve just shown that I’ve taking that big leap in ability,” he remarked.
Regardless of how the year finishes out, all three will now be enshrined in Wyalusing wrestling lore.
“We have all the plaques of everybody who has gotten over 100 on the wall, and it’s nice to know my name’s going to be up there,” said Harvey.
It’s also a full circle moment as all three have been on the mat together since they could tumble.
“We grew up, wrestled all the way through elementary and we’ve all had great success,” Patrick said. “It’s nice seeing it all come together.”
