YOUTH: TOWANDA JH BOYS CLAIM NTL SWIMMING TITLE (February 5, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportATHENS — The Towanda boys took home the NTL junior high swimming title on Thursday.
They repeated, scoring 139 points to Athens’ 124, while on the girls’ side Athens (36) edged out NEB (20), and T/owanda (18).
For the boys Towanda’s team of Drew Maghamez, Hudson Nash, Blake Ackley, and Marshall McNeal won the 200 medley relay in 2:30.79.
Nash (1:22.83) and Elijah Wilson (1:55.61) went 2-3 in the 100 IM.
The Knights swept the 50 free with Ackley (29.67), Maghamez (29.78), and McNeal (32.31), while Daryn Ackley (50.97) was ninth.
The Knights went 1-2 in the 50 fly with Ackley (35.19) and Mason Hartmann (42.01) with Wilson (53.67) taking fourth.
Nash (1:09.02) won the 100 free with Maghamez (1:11.55) in third, McNeal (1:11.78) in fourth, and Hartmann (1:17.42) taking fifth. Daryn Ackley (1:03.55) was fifth in the 50 backstroke.
Towanda’s team of Blake Ackley, Wilson, McNeal, and Hartmann won the 200 free relay in 2:17.88.
On the girls’ side for NEB Lauren Mihalek (46.08) won the 50 free and the 50 breaststroke (1:01.87).
Towanda Quinnley Socha-Brown won the fly (49.15), and took second in the 100 free (1:35.17).
