NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: NEB PULLS AWAY FROM NP-LIBERTY (February 10, 2026)
Northern Tier Sports ReportROME — NEB girls hoops got some big performances to end the regular season as they defeated NP-Liberty, 58-37, during NTL Small School action Tuesday.
It was tight early as NEB held a 14-11 first quarter lead, but the Panthers kept NPL scoreless in the second to take a 13-point lead at the half.
The two teams had 18 points each in the third quarter, with NEB pulling away in the fourth as they out scored the Mounties 16-8.
Kara Dughi had a career high 21 points to go with four boards, and three steals, to lead the Panthers, while Mallorie Maynard had a near triple-double of 14 points, 10 boards, and eight steals to go with three assists.
Aurelia Kolesar had a double-double of 10 points, and 12 boards, along with four assists, and five steals.
Leah Beebe had 12 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, as Katrina Russell notched one point, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Hailey Litzelman had 25 points to lead NPL.
Maynard led the attack out of the gates with seven of her team’s 14 in the opening frame, while Dughi netted six of NEB’s 10 in the second quarter to give them the 24-11 lead heading into the locker rooms.
Dughi had a big third quarter, scoring eight points, while Beebe hit a pair of 3-balls, but Litzelman kept NPL in the game with 13 of her team’s 18 points.
Beebe hit two 3-pointers in the fourth to lead the Panther charge, while the NEB defense held NPL to just one field goal.
NEB will now host Towanda on Thursday with a 6 p.m. start in the first round of the NTL Showcase.
