NTL WRESTLING: NEB PUSHES SIX WRESTLERS FROM SECTIONALS TO DISTRICTS (February 15, 2026)

WELLSBORO — NEB saw six of their eight wrestlers advance out of the North Section Tournament to districts on Saturday, led by Asher Kolesar’s runner-up finish.

Kolesar (189) took second, with Hunter Comstock (127), Kale Howland (160), and Mason Alexander (114) all taking home third place finishes.

Alex Gomez (145), and Connor Eastabrook (152) both finished fourth.

Kolesar opened with a 4-3 win over Canton’s Leland Pepper in the semifinals, but then fell 8-4 to Wyalusing’s Ethan Vanderpool in the finals.

Comstock went 3-1 on the day with a tech fall, a fall, and a decision.

In the bronze medal match he won 6-1 to Towanda’s Jayden Stranger to take home bronze.

Howland also went 3-1 with two falls, and a tech fall.

He pinned Sullivan County’s Tucker Evans in 2:11 in the bronze medal match.

Alexander went 1-1 on the day with a 16 second fall over Sullivan County’s Luca Zelewicz in the third place match.

Gomez went 2-2 on the day with a pair of falls. He lost by fall to Wyalusing’s Reuben Kinney in 4:18 in the third place match.

Eastabrook went 2-2 on the day with a pair of falls. In the bronze medal match he fell in a wild 23-13 major decision to Towanda’s Joey Montonya.

Maddex Rooker went 0-3 to take sixth while William Chappell (139) finished 0-2.
